In the last step of installation I get a 500 error...

you need to click continue to install request plugin that is auto work .i can not find your issue result too .so try to find log to get more detail .open debug mode first

It happens in the very last step after providing my db credentials. From my side everything is alright. All requirements filled. Credentials double checked. It Looks like there is a mySQL migration problem.

try to change php run time to long
view your log file from storage/logs/
view php issue log
